For Anthony’s meth addiction 12 step drug rehab was not an option.

The following is directly transcribed from Anthony’s testimonial: For the last 3 years I didn’t miss a day using meth. I am a God-fearing man, and I believe that he had better plans for me. My parents, they’ve never been anything but supportive, but you know they didn’t have a clue what they could do to help.

I had lost my ability to be able to deal with everyday life.

I can remember miss Debbie telling me one day, I said I got to go, I can’t do it, and she said, Anthony, it’s eight weeks, and it’s the rest of your life, and I knew right then that she was exactly right that I could do it.

I had told a few other places in California and South Florida I was interested, but I got discouraged when it finally hit me: “you’re not calling any of these places directly because you’re getting the same answering service, it’s a hotline!”

I already knew that a 12-step rehab was not an option. I knew a non-12 step program sounded like it suited me better. I was so relieved when I called, and a live person answered. I said: “am I talking to someone at Gulf Breeze Recovery?”

Thank God you know I mean they were unbelievably not what I expected but in a good way. I had put off something that was so easy you know I had tortured myself for many years, and I was about to face the real me.

Eight-weeks didn’t turn out to be that long after-all.

After 15 years eight weeks is a short period for me to get to finally enjoy living a life that I know that I deserve! I can’t believe that it took me so long to find something so simple.

After I relaxed a little bit and got a little more comfortable with myself it was popping every day! Whether it be from a book or pleasant conversation in class you know once you know it’s incredible the things I see now. There is a pretty world out there you know, and I’m a part of it thank God!

I have fun out there and you know I didn’t realize that it was possible to have fun. I laugh till it hurts now, and that was something I did a long time ago.

This place this is the real deal. I can tell you I’ve been in class and seen people come and go and make it. They make it through the program! Every graduation there’s tears of joy because you see people come in suffering and you know they’re hurting but in a matter of six seven eight days you see a whole different person, a complete 180, and it makes you smile to know that this place works, and that’s what it’s all about, we want something
that works.
